Patient Information

Important information you should know if you are considering an MRI:

  • Open Aire MRI's are generally less expensive than other MRIs.
  • We accept Medicare, Arkansas Medicaid, and most insurance plans.
  • Open Aire MRI billing is all inclusive. The MRI scan and the radiologist’s report are included in one bill.
  • Payment arrangements can be made for the patient portion of the bill. If you do not have health insurance, or approved payment from an accident, a $500 per scan down payment is required.  
  • A physician’s order is required.
  • Open Aire MRI’s use no radiation.

Important information if you have an Open Aire MRI scheduled:

  • There are not special instructions for the day of the exam. You can eat normally and take any prescribed medication.
  • Allow 30 to 45 minutes per scan. (One scan per body part.)
  • You may bring one person with you if you prefer.
  • Some patients prefer to listen to music during scans. Bring your own or choose from our selection of relaxing music.
  • Most patients find the Open Aire MRI causes less stress or anxiety. However, if you feel you need medication to relax please consult your physician for a prescription and take it before you arrive at Open Aire MRI. We do not administer medications at Open Aire MRI.
  • You can wear your own clothing during the scan if your clothes do not have metal clasps, buttons or zippers. We also offer comfortable, full coverage (pants & top) scrubs.
  • Additional Instructions:         
              Patients with pacemakers may NOT undergo an MR exam.
              Patients with Aneurysm Clips may NOT undergo an MR exam.
              Patients with imbedded electronic devices may NOT undergo an MR exam.
              Pregnant patients should discuss necessity of MRI with their physicians.
              Patients must remove watches, some jewelry, (especially pierced), cell phones and metal objects.
